Survival of the fittest. Everyone puts on a strong front. If you disagree with me, you must be in denial. No human, nor animal, will voluntarily put their heart on their sleeves (or fur coat in that case) and show their most vulnerable side for all to see and mock. Ask yourself, will you ever freely show your sadness or despair? No. Instead, you will put on a mask, a facade, to stop anyone from finding out the most fragile side of you but only remove it when you're all alone. Or when the person(s) closest to you confronts you.

But I'm not saying that those emotions are never expressed. There are more fondly termed as surpressed emotions. There is always a moment where revelation could possibly be the 'best policy', yet it's either out of the league or the negative emotions brought about causes more pain and torment than surpressed.

It is possibly a crossroad. But to survive is to be strong. A strong mind and a hardened heart devoid of emotions might just be the essential ingredients to the potion. The facade shall come in the form of lies- the only spice that completes it. Every day is a result of the potion; every minute is nothing more than pretenses.

Yet for every alleged pretense and denial, what lies beneath is a pre-written script. And there you have it, life's almost like a movie. But you just don't know how it ends.

In this instance, notwithstanding having divulged the secrets, the fittest probably continues to be the best liar in the league.
